A roadworthy is a complete safety inspection of your vehicle.
You pay for the inspection pass or fail if the vehicle in question passes you will be issued with a roadworthy certificate if it fails you will be issued with a list of un roadworthy components your car has failed on and you will be given 2 weeks to resurrect the issues before the second check is carried out free of charge.
A minor service consists of an oil and filter change with a full 100-point inspection of the vehicle to let you know of current issues or possible future issues.
A major service will consist of what your cars manufacturer asks, can be anywhere from oil change with a new filter coolant flush because your coolant has lost its properties, brake flush because your brake fluid might have too much moisture content which can be very harmful and dangerous ,air filter, spark plugs/leads and last but not least is a big issue a lot of people forget about is the cabin/pollen filter which cleanses the air entering the cabin.
A log book service will be carried out as required by your vehicle manufacturers specifications based on kilometres driven.
For a major service, your car will be assessed and looked over thoroughly. Any maintenance issues that have not been addressed between the log book service recommended change times will be flushed/changed or cleaned as per your qualified technicians’ recommendations.
A 4x4 service consists of an oil change and a filter change although 4WDs have a more in-depth service procedure which also includes:
Machining or replacing rotors is important because over time they embed their own patterns and heat spots where the brake pads sit. Changing your pads and not machining your rotors will cause the new pads to sit uneven on groves made by the old pads. This may cause squealing, shuttering, or heavy vibrations. For this reason, we always machine the rotors when installing new brake pads, so the pads can start their life on a flat surface and wear their own way in, producing a smoother braking experience.
Your suspension is a vital component of your car it allows your car to adjust heights accordingly to the road surface giving you the smooth ride you have there are many bushes and components to a cars suspension and is very important to maintain your suspension.
If steering boots, the steering rack, or any of the other components are not maintained it can cause the steering to seize, become difficult, and even loose the power-steering feature. Another issue with not maintaining your steering is that the steering rack can create play, resulting in the car’s steering not being as responsive as it once was and dangerous on when driving.
A computer diagnosis is done by plugging a special computer into your car, so it can read your in-car computer. Faults that can be read are; engine lights, ABS braking lights, air bag lights, and many of other warnings that can occur throughout the life of the car.
The computer diagnosis system can also run procedures such as monitoring different running stats like; current idle, O2 sensors readings, timing readings, keys being programmed, fuel pressure, and throttle body readings.
These can all be displayed live whilst the vehicle is running and will give your qualified technician a more in-depth idea of why your car might be playing up or running rough.
